About The Role

The role focuses on designing, building, and scaling the infrastructure that powers core production services. Working at the intersection of software engineering and systems operations, this engineer ensures that the platform remains highly available, performant, and secure under heavy traffic loads.

The team is responsible for managing containerized workloads, optimizing cloud footprint, and driving high standards for observability and automation. This role is crucial for scaling out deployment velocity while maintaining a resilient, zero-downtime production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, provision, and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS or GCP using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices
  • Manage and tune production Kubernetes clusters, including container orchestration, service mesh routing, and automated scaling policies
  • Build, optimize, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins to accelerate developer velocity safely
  • Implement comprehensive observability, monitoring, and alerting configurations using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and OpenTelemetry
  • Participate in a blameless on-call rotation, systematically responding to incidents, and conducting root-cause post-mortems to prevent recurrence
  • Write custom automation tools, operators, and CLI utilities in Go, Python, or Bash to eliminate manual operational toil

What We Are Looking For

  • 3–7 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering managing production-grade systems
  • Hands-on expertise in container orchestration, specifically managing Kubernetes at scale in a production cloud environment
  • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform or Pulumi
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals in at least one modern programming language, preferably Go, Python, or Java
  • Deep understanding of Linux systems internals, TCP/IP networking, DNS, load balancing, and cloud security patterns
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Bonus: Experience with database scaling, service meshes (Istio/Linkerd), multi-region active-active architectures, or compliance standards (SOC2, ISO27001)
