Senior SRE Lead

We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with around 15 years of overall IT experience and a strong background in Microsoft Azure, Terraform, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of SRE principles, infrastructure automation, cloud operations, and production reliability. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure highly available, scalable, and resilient cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
- Drive Site Reliability Engineering best practices, including reliability, scalability, observability, automation, and incident management.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for provisioning and maintaining cloud resources.
- Monitor production systems, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement proactive solutions to improve system reliability.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Define and maintain Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and error budgets.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to improve deployment processes and operational efficiency.
- Automate operational tasks and reduce manual intervention through scripting and tooling.
- Participate in on-call support and effectively manage critical production incidents.
- Engage directly with customers to understand requirements, communicate technical solutions, and provide operational support.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote SRE best practices across engineering teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Around 15 years of overall IT experience.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
- Strong conceptual understanding of SRE principles, reliability engineering, observability, and production operations.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Hands-on expertise in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience with cloud infrastructure automation and configuration management.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident management practices.
- Experience troubleshooting complex production environments and ensuring high system availability.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
