Cloud DevOps Engineer

A team of people that somehow managed to design, build, and launch a licensed online gaming platform from scratch is looking for someone whose primary responsibility will be to pretend everything is fine.

Or, if it isn’t, at least Grafana tells us before our customers become part of the monitoring system.

What we’re looking for

• 6+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering or SRE
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Jenkins experience is a strong advantage.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting (Shell, Python, Terraform…or whatever convinces computers to do repetitive work instead of people)
• Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting and observability
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Exposure to event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS)
• Good understanding of networking, firewalls and secure system design
• Solid understanding of IT security best practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on mindset
• A healthy level of paranoia when it comes to security
• The ability to remain calm after hearing “It was working five minutes ago”
• Professional English. Swearing in your native language is optional, but we find it surprisingly effective during incident calls.

Bonus points

• Experience operating online gaming systems
• You believe every manual step is simply automation that hasn’t happened yet
• You know why “unlimited retries” isn’t a reliability strategy
