About the Role
As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's Kubernetes/OpenShift platform. You'll partner closely with infrastructure, security, and application development teams to deliver a scalable, secure, and highly available container platform while driving automation and infrastructure modernization. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on platform reliability, container orchestration, infrastructure automation, and enabling development teams through self-service platform capabilities.
Security Clearance Requirement
- Due to the nature of this position and the programs supported, candidates must be U.S. Citizens and Only U.S. Citizens will be considered.
- Candidates local to the Dallas area are preferred, as an onsite interview is required.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, administer, and enhance enterprise Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms.
- Build and maintain a secure, scalable, and highly available container platform for development teams.
- Deploy, configure, and manage Red Hat OpenShift clusters across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Automate platform provisioning, upgrades, patching, and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Develop CI/CD platform capabilities to support containerized application deployments.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Networking, and Software Engineering teams to improve developer productivity.
- Monitor platform health, performance, availability, and capacity while proactively resolving issues.
- Implement platform security, RBAC, networking, storage, and compliance best practices.
- Drive platform standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support enterprise cloud infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Kubernetes Administration, Cloud Infrastructure, or DevOps Engineering.
- Hands-on experience administering Red Hat OpenShift in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, networking, storage, and container orchestration.
- Experience building and supporting developer platforms and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Experience with Git-based workflows and Infrastructure as Code.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience working in regulated, manufacturing, or aerospace environments is a plus.
