Cyber Security Engineer

Our client is seeking a Security Engineer to help strengthen and modernize enterprise cybersecurity capabilities across a dynamic and evolving technology environment. This role will support a broad range of security initiatives including threat detection, vulnerability management, cloud security, identity controls, endpoint protection, and security operations.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and improve security controls across enterprise systems and platforms
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts, incidents, and suspicious activity
• Assist with detection engineering, logging, monitoring, and threat visibility improvements
• Identify security gaps, misconfigurations, and operational risks, and help implement corrective action
• Support vulnerability scanning, remediation tracking, and risk reduction efforts
• Partner with infrastructure and engineering teams to prioritize and remediate security findings
• Help improve vulnerability management processes, reporting, and coverage across the environment
• Support cloud security initiatives across modern enterprise environment
• Assist with endpoint security, system hardening, and security monitoring initiatives
• Help secure enterprise applications, remote access technologies, and network controls
• Contribute to improving overall security posture and operational resiliency
• Participate in security tool consolidation and modernization initiatives
• Support implementation and optimization of security technologies and processes
• Help improve security standards, operational procedures, and technical documentation
• Stay current on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices
• Work closely with infrastructure, engineering, security, and business teams
• Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly and professionally
• Contribute to a collaborative, ownership-driven team cult
• Assist in promoting security awareness and operational best practices across the organizations

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, or related IT/security roles
• Experience supporting enterprise security tools and technologies
• Familiarity with areas such as: Security monitoring and alerting, Vulnerability management , Endpoint security, Cloud security, Identity and access management, Incident response
• Understanding of core cybersecurity principles including authentication, least privilege, system hardening, and risk management
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft security technologies and cloud environments
• Exposure to SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, or cloud security platforms
• Experience working in lean or mid-sized organizations where engineers wear multiple hats
• Familiarity with security frameworks, governance concepts, or compliance standards
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, AZ-500, or similar
