We are seeking a seasoned cloud governance and security professional to lead and evolve enterprise-wide cloud compliance and posture management across Azure and Microsoft 365. This role is responsible for establishing governance frameworks, maintaining security baselines, and driving continuous risk reduction while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.
Pay rate: $135K- $145K per year. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors
This position plays a critical role in shaping cloud security strategy, partnering closely with cloud engineering and cross-functional teams to enforce secure configurations, remediate risks, and provide leadership visibility into cloud posture and compliance progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the strategic vision and roadmap for cloud governance across Azure and Microsoft 365
- Design, implement, and continuously enhance cloud security policies, standards, and configuration baselines
- Establish and manage processes for exception documentation and governance
- Lead cloud security posture management initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational security benchmarks
- Conduct and oversee cloud-focused risk assessments, synthesizing results to inform leadership on risk exposure and trends
- Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to remediate security findings and validate corrective actions
- Monitor and report on cloud posture improvements and remediation progress to senior leadership
- Integrate governance, compliance, and security requirements into operational processes and platform standards
- Develop dashboards and reporting pipelines to communicate compliance metrics and cloud risk posture
- Mentor and develop GRC analysts supporting cloud governance efforts
Additional Responsibilities
- Drive execution of tactical and operational plans that contribute to broader security and compliance objectives
- Lead process improvements and innovation efforts to enhance cloud governance effectiveness and operational efficiency
- Solve complex, cross-functional challenges through analysis, experience, and strategic decision-making
- Influence internal and external stakeholders on governance practices, policies, and security standards
Qualifications
Education (Required):
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
Experience (Required):
- 7+ years of relevant experience in cloud security, governance, or risk management
Certifications (Preferred):
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- Cloud security certifications, preferably Azure-focused
