QA Automation Tester

We are looking for a hands-on QA Automation Tester to support the design, testing, and continual improvement of large-scale, mission-critical enterprise applications for the client. This role will focus heavily on automated and manual testing to ensure functional requirements, performance, scalability, maintainability, security, interoperability, and accessibility standards are achieved. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Azure DevOps, UFT automation, enterprise testing frameworks, Agile delivery, and end-to-end testing of complex distributed systems. Candidates local to Hartford, Connecticut, or within a reasonable commuting distance will be strongly preferred. Prior experience supporting Connecticut state agency, public-sector human services, or child welfare technology environments is preferred.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with the Azure DevOps suite, including Azure Boards, Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, Azure Test Plans, and Azure Artifacts.
- 5+ years of automated testing experience using UFT / Unified Functional Testing and VBScript or another programming language.
- 5+ years of experience with automated testing frameworks and manual testing, including test methodologies, test strategies, and test beds.
- 5+ years of experience working within Agile software development environments.
- Experience developing and maintaining UI, backend, API, and hardware test automation.
- Experience supporting at least two large-scale Agile software development projects.
- Strong experience authoring test plans, test cases, test scenarios, automated test scripts, and acceptance tests.
- Experience executing functional, regression, performance, database, mobile, security, accessibility, cross-browser, and web service testing.
- Experience creating automated test scenarios aligned with Agile acceptance criteria.
- Strong understanding of QA standards and best practices within Agile and DevOps environments.
- Experience integrating automated testing into Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery environments.
- Experience with Test Driven Development and modern testing tools and techniques.
- Experience testing enterprise system integrations and working with enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience testing REST, SOAP, and WCF web services using tools such as SOAPUI.
- Working knowledge of C#, WCF, jQuery, XML, JSON, Web API, SOAP, .NET, and JavaScript.
- Experience with .NET Framework, Microsoft SharePoint, and Salesforce environments.
- Knowledge of SQL, database testing, data modeling, and database design.
- Knowledge of application modeling, application design, Service-Oriented Architecture, and object-oriented design principles.
- Knowledge of virtualized hosting environments and MuleSoft is preferred.
- Experience working with Product Owners, development teams, system teams, operations teams, users, and project stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, abstract thinking, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining organized, proactive, and self-directed.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- Prior Connecticut state agency, public-sector human services, or child welfare systems experience is preferred.
