Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Security Engagement Strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive security engagement and enablement strategy aligned with organizational risk and business priorities.
- Act as a key advocate for security culture, influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Partner with leadership teams to embed security into business processes and decision-making.
- Partner with Security Architecture and Engineering to co-design controls that are secure and user-centric
- Ensure controls are embedded seamlessly into workflows (e.g., developer pipelines, business processes) rather than bolted on
- Advocate for “secure by design” and “friction-aware” approaches that balance risk reduction with productivity
- Translate user behavior insights and human risk data into control design improvements
- Translate complex security concepts into accessible guidance, frameworks, and tools.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and technology teams to integrate secure-by-design principles.
- Develop playbooks, toolkits, and self-service resources to support secure practices.
- Build strong relationships across departments including HR, Legal, Enterprise Technology & Engineering.
- Serve as the primary liaison between security teams and the wider business.
- Facilitate communication during security initiatives, incidents, and change programs.
- Oversee our training and awareness service, ensuring that the message and content remains relevant, focused and drives the required behaviours
- Oversee phishing simulations, training campaigns, and behavioral change initiatives.
- Continuously measure and improve the effectiveness of cyber’s message
- Lead and mentor a team of security enablement and engagement professionals. Work closely with Security Architects on strategic priorities
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance culture.
- Manage vendors and external partners related to engagement initiatives.

- Ability to translate cybersecurity risks into business-relevant language
- Braod technical security control awareness across AWS, Wiz, Crowdstrike and Splunk
- Build and scale enablement & engagement programs across large organizations
- Ability to work with security architects to design technical controls that are future-fit and meet business requirements
- Drive cultural change and embed security-first behaviors
- Lead cross-functional collaboration between security, HR, technology and business teams
- Identify human risk trends and adapt programs accordingly
- Establish and manage security champion networks
- Balance user experience with security requirements
- Stay ahead of emerging threats and evolving best practices.
- Future Ready: Demonstrating curiosity and openness toward AI and emerging technologies, with a willingness to continuously learn, adapt, share knowledge and collaborate with AI tools in your day to day activity.
- 8–12+ years in cybersecurity, with a focus on security architecture, enablement, or human risk
- Proven track record of leading organization-wide security engagement programs
- Experience working with senior leadership and influencing decision-making
- Background in building or scaling security culture initiatives
- Experience in regulated or complex environments (e.g., finance, healthcare, tech)
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing teams
- Experience working in cross-functional, global organizations
- Familiarity with relevant frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST)
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM).
