EV Connect is seeking a Senior SDET(Software Developer In Test) who shares our passion for electric vehicles and their for generations to come.
The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years experience in testing methods ability to positively impact transportation, air quality and energy
independence and best practices in an agile SDLC, including functional, smoke, regression, end/end, integration and test automation.
About the Position
- Ensure that products and features developed for our EV Cloud platform, as well as related customer products and services, meet high standards of quality in both form and functionality.
- Champion, evangelize, and apply best practices in software testing and quality assurance.
- Actively participate in the development and maintenance of manual and automated test plans, scripts, and scenarios, including execution of:
- Automated testing
- Functional, integration, and regression testing
- Performance, load, and stress testing
- End-to-end testing
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across development, product management, customer support, and operations to build deep product knowledge.
- Work with a variety of EV charging station brands, models, and firmware versions to ensure compatibility, successful integration, and certification with cloud-based services.
- Coordinate with third-party charging station operator networks to ensure integrity and compatibility of roaming integrations.
- Participate alongside Product and Engineering teams in product launches and release/deployment management activities.
- Monitor and meet defined quality assurance metrics and performance benchmarks.
- Support Scrum teams through estimation, planning, and defining testing strategies.
- Validate, replicate, and triage reported production defects to ensure timely resolution.
Focus & Scope of Responsibilities
- Primarily focused on automation testing and building testing tools.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, tools, and scripts to ensure scalable and efficient testing processes.
- Leverage strong development background to write high-quality test code and drive automation-first testing practices.
- Ensure application robustness and testability by improving infrastructure, enforcing code quality standards, and integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure code is testable and that automation is embedded in the development lifecycle.
- Perform extensive automated testing, including:
- Functional testing
- Integration testing
- API testing
- UI testing
- Performance and load testing
- Utilize project and issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira) to manage workflows and maintain visibility into testing progress.
Technical Skills
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C#, or JavaScript.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks and tools.
- Hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks, including:
- Playwright
- Selenium
- TestNG
- Cypress
- Ability to build custom automation solutions for functional, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Understanding of performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful web services and API testing practices.
- Solid understanding of software development principles, with the ability to review code for testability and quality.
- Experience working with:
- Version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, GitHub)
- Build systems and CI/CD pipelines
Nice to Have
- Experience with EV charging station integrations or open protocols such as:
- OCPP
- OCPI
- OpenAPI
- Familiarity with Kubernetes for automating application deployment, scaling, and management.
