Software Engineering & Quality Lead (m/f/d)

You are responsible for the technical quality of BRANE across the entire software development lifecycle, including architecture, engineering standards, test strategy, release approvals, and continuous improvement.

BRANE is a security product that runs within customer infrastructure and controls sensitive AI interactions. Software quality issues are therefore not cosmetic problems. They affect security, availability, data protection, and customer trust.

In this role, you combine technical leadership with hands-on engineering responsibility. You continue to contribute to the codebase, establish binding quality standards, and ensure that new features are released reliably, securely, and with full traceability.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

• Technical quality and stability across the entire BRANE platform

• Test strategies for backend services, APIs, frontend applications, appliances, and integrations

• Engineering standards, code reviews, and architectural decisions

• Automated testing, release processes, and quality metrics

• Analysis and sustainable resolution of complex production issues

• Collaboration with the Guardian Core, Fleet, Agent Engineering, and Product Security teams

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement an end-to-end quality assurance and testing strategy for BRANE

• Define quality criteria and mandatory release gates

• Expand automated unit, integration, end-to-end, and regression testing

• Develop critical product components and conduct technical reviews

• Analyze defects systematically and establish sustainable solutions

• Improve engineering processes, code quality, and technical documentation

• Assess risks before releases and share responsibility for release approvals

• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and support for complex engineering decisions

• Establish quality metrics and create transparency for Product and Management

YOUR PROFILE

• Several years of experience as a Software Engineer working on production systems

• Experience in a Lead, Staff, or Senior Engineering role

• Strong experience with automated testing and modern quality engineering strategies

• Very good knowledge of TypeScript and backend development

• Experience with APIs, distributed systems, and containerized applications

• Strong working knowledge of CI/CD, Git, Docker, and Linux

• Experience with test automation, observability, and root cause analysis

• Ability to translate quality requirements into clear technical standards

• A strong commitment to reliability, security, and traceable decision-making

• Very good English skills for code, reviews, and technical documentation

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS

• Experience with security products or security-critical systems

• Experience with on-premises, edge, or appliance-based deployments

• Knowledge of performance, load, and resilience testing

• Experience with threat modeling, secure development, or compliance requirements

• Experience with AI, LLM, or agent-based systems

• Understanding of GDPR, the EU AI Act, or regulated customer environments
