Job Role
The Specialist – IT Audit role is responsible for assisting the Manager – IT Audit in reviewing the organization’s IT practices, infrastructure, systems, and applications as per internal standards, government regulations, and international best practices. The main objective is to support IT audit activities relating to network management, IT fraud prevention, technology inefficiencies, application controls, IT risks, and system-based business controls.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager – IT Audit in conducting IT audits of IT systems, infrastructure, applications, and processes.
- Evaluate compliance with applicable IT regulations, internal policies, procedures, and standards.
- Identify IT risks relating to access management, data security, infrastructure security, data centre operations, source code control, and data integrity.
- Assess whether IT controls are effective in protecting institutional assets and supporting business goals.
- Conduct audits related to network management, IT fraud, technology inefficiencies, application controls, and system-based business controls.
- Prepare audit reports containing findings, observations, and recommendations.
- Monitor the status of IT audit action plans and ensure timely implementation.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to collect required audit data and information.
- Support external auditors by providing access to relevant data and stakeholders.
- Maintain and organize IT audit working papers and supporting documents.
- Research latest IT audit trends, tools, regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Organize meetings with key stakeholders for IT audits and related discussions.
- Support improvement of IT audit procedures, tools, and methods.
- Assist the department in achieving its KPIs.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor or required by business needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Accounting, IT).
- Preferred: Master’s in relevant field e.g. Cybersecurity, Data/AI, or Digital Governance.
- Certifications: CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001, CCSP, CDPSE, AI governance credentials
- Full English proficiency required.
- Advanced computer literacy (MS Office).
- Minimum of three years of relevant work experience in Audit with a focus on IT Audit.
- Preferred: Experience in AI/ML risk assessment, cloud security, and data governance.
