Under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, Application Security Unit, the incumbent reviews application/system architecture, configuration, and changes to ensure that they are in compliance with information security policies and procedures. The incumbent ' s efforts contribute to the safeguarding of taxpayer and employee information. This position performs functions that fall within the Information Technology domain of Information Security Engineering.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of web servers, web applications, and multi-tier application design
  • Experience working with application vulnerability scanners and penetration tools
  • Ability to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical & non-technical staff
  • Familiarity with web application security flaws such as those documented in the OWASP Top 10
  • Experience with application development and system development life cycle
  • Experience leading large enterprise projects requiring ability to educate and mentor members of project team
  • Experience preparing reports to management related to progress of activities.
  • Ability to perform information systems assessments to verify policy compliance and security standards are in place.
  • Experience recommending strategies for re-engineering information systems
  • Experience with app security policies and standards
  • Experience with secure coding and development best practices
  • Experience developing N Tier applications
