Duties
- The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO is searching for a Work Order Manager for the 21 CS (NH-2210-02, GS-05/11 Equivalent). Description: Selected candidate will work in a dynamic and fast paced communications and information technology project management organization spanning Peterson SFB, Schriever SFB, Cheyenne Mountain SFS and the Colorado Springs metropolitan area. Duties will include coordinating work order development, submission and documentation for a wide array of new information technology requirements, upgrades and life-cycle replacements. You will help fulfill the information technology needs of the United States Space Force, Missile Defense Agency, United States Northern Command, North American Aerospace Defense, and United States Space Command, just to name a few. Ideal Candidate: Experience with Department or War communications and information technology requirements development, documentation and submission. Diverse knowledge and/or experience with information technology platforms and services. Key Skills and Abilities: I. Knowledge of a wide range of communications and information technology theories, concepts, principles, practices, procedures, policies, standards and operational requirements. 2. Knowledge of performance characteristics of communications and information technology equipment, systems, services, and transmission media to evaluate devices, proposals, and approaches. 3. Knowledge of basic electronics theory and operating principles, the application of existing and planned technology to communications requirements, and equipment interoperability and compatibility. 4. Knowledge of associated methods and techniques such as contracting procedures/legal requirements, cost analyses, and budgets. 5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to identify, direct, or coordinate actions required in providing needed service. 6.Ability to analyze/apply specialized communication methods and analytical techniques involving, communications and information technology systems (e.g., systems compatibility, circuits, switches, servers, distribution, satellite linkages, and networking). 7. Knowledge of a wide range of communications concepts, principles, and practices, to accomplish work processes through the use of telecommunications devices, methods, services, and facilities. Work encompasses complex and uncommon interfaces and policies and practices; sources of technical data to evaluate new devices, proposals, and approaches for satisfying communications and information technology requirements; and a practical understanding of contracting procedures and legal requirements. 8. Knowledge of DoD, USSF and Air Force communications policies, regulations, technical orders, services, and instructions to ensure communications and information technology services are in compliance with applicable regulations and instructions. 9. Knowledge of operational and performance characteristics of communications and information technology systems to define, coordinate, plan, and satisfy user requirements for communications and information technology equipment, systems, or services, and to review, develop, or interpret communications policies and procedures. 10. Knowledge of commonly used practices, guides, and a broad range of operating techniques concerning both standard and unique communications systems design installation and concept of operations. 11. Knowledge of the DoD and Air Force budgetary system, contract procedures, and legal requirements and how they apply to planning and programming of communications and information technology systems.
