Immersum are partnering with a highly successful software business whose cloud platforms are trusted by organisations operating within highly regulated industries.

They're looking for a Cloud Security Analyst to join their growing Security & IT Operations team. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in AWS and cloud security who wants to accelerate their career whilst learning from some exceptionally experienced engineers.

Unlike many organisations, this company has a proven track record of developing talented engineers over the long term. Many of their Senior Engineers, Principal Engineers and technical leaders started their careers in similar positions and have progressed internally through structured mentoring, ongoing investment and exposure to large-scale cloud environments.

If you're ambitious, curious and eager to learn, you'll be joining a business that genuinely invests in its people.

The Company

This established technology business develops enterprise-grade cloud software that supports thousands of users across mission-critical environments. Their platforms are built with security, resilience and scalability at the forefront, meaning cloud security isn't an afterthought—it's embedded into everything they do.

Engineering excellence is central to their culture, with teams working collaboratively across Infrastructure, Platform and Software Engineering to continually improve both their technology and security posture. The business is well known for promoting from within, providing structured career development, regular technical feedback, industry certification support and genuine opportunities to progress into Senior and Principal level positions.

The Role

As a Cloud Security Analyst, you'll become part of a collaborative Security & IT Operations team responsible for protecting AWS-hosted platforms and ensuring the organisation maintains a strong security posture.

Working alongside experienced Infrastructure, Platform and Engineering teams, you'll help secure cloud environments, strengthen identity and access management, support compliance initiatives and develop your expertise across modern cloud security technologies. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to enterprise-scale AWS environments whilst providing the support and mentoring needed to develop into a highly capable Cloud Security Engineer.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the design and implementation of secure AWS cloud environments following security best practices.
  • Monitoring AWS security services including CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, AWS Config and Detective to identify threats, vulnerabilities and suspicious activity.
  • Assisting with Identity & Access Management (IAM), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
  • Supporting vulnerability assessments, remediation programmes and security patching activities.
  • Working closely with Engineering, Infrastructure and Platform teams to embed security across cloud services.
  • Assisting with internal and external security audits, helping maintain compliance with recognised industry standards.
  • Supporting security incident investigations and contributing towards continuous improvements in security processes.
  • Helping ensure sensitive customer data remains secure through effective cloud security controls and best practices.

Tech Stack

Cloud: AWS (IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, AWS Config, Detective)

Security: Identity & Access Management (IAM), RBAC, MFA, Vulnerability Management, Incident Response

Compliance: ISO 27001, SOC 2, CIS Benchmarks

About You

This role is as much about attitude and potential as it is about technical skills.

We're ideally looking for someone with 18 months to 3 years' commercial experience in a Cloud, Infrastructure, IT Operations or Security role who is passionate about AWS and cyber security.

You'll likely have:

  • A strong academic background in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology or a related technical discipline (or equivalent commercial experience).
  • Hands-on exposure to AWS and an understanding of core cloud security principles.
  • A genuine curiosity for cloud technologies and a desire to build a career within Cloud Security.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work collaboratively across technical teams.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to continually learn and take on new challenges.

Whether you're currently working in Infrastructure, Cloud Support, IT Operations, SOC or an entry-level Cloud Security role, this is an opportunity to join a business that will actively invest in your development.

If you're looking for more than just your next job—and want a company with a proven history of nurturing talent into Senior and Principal engineering positions—this is the perfect opportunity.
