Mazda Australia is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager Cyber Security to lead the continual enhancement of our cyber security posture and safeguard critical business operations, systems, data, and emerging technologies.
As a key member of the IT Leadership Team, you will influence and shape security outcomes across the entire technology landscape, including governance, architecture, risk management, threat detection and response, business continuity, vendor security, and AI governance.

About the Role:
Reporting into the Head of IT, you will be responsible for developing and executing Mazda Australia's cyber security strategy while ensuring security controls, policies, and frameworks remain effective, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.
You will provide leadership across governance, operational security, incident response, risk management, security awareness, and emerging technology security, including AI governance and assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and execute Mazda Australia's cyber security strategy and roadmap.
- Establish and enhance security governance frameworks, policies, standards and controls.
- Lead enterprise security risk assessments and remediation programs.
- Lead security awareness and education programs across the organisation.
- Oversee security audits, compliance activities and vendor security assessments.
- Define and manage access control frameworks and security architecture standards.
- Establish and oversee AI security and governance frameworks covering the adoption, development and procurement of AI solutions.
- Lead security monitoring, detection and response capabilities.
- Manage security tooling, SIEM platforms and security operations processes.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and remediation programs.
- Identify emerging threats and implement proactive security measures to protect the organisation.
- Provide trusted security advice to business and technology stakeholders.
- Deliver meaningful reporting to executive stakeholders on cyber risks, threats and security performance.
- Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, regulatory developments and industry best practices.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across security processes, tools and capabilities.
About You:
You are a highly capable cyber security leader with strong technical depth, commercial acumen and the ability to influence across all levels of an organisation.
You will bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, CISM, ISO 27001 LI/LA,GIAC or CEH or similar.
- 10+ years' experience in Information Technology.
- 7+ years' experience in Cyber Security leadership or specialist roles.
- Strong technical working knowledge across networking, applications, systems and infrastructure, including Windows, Unix, Virtualisation and Cloud
- Strong knowledge of security governance, architecture, frameworks, standards and controls.
- Experience with SIEM platforms, threat detection, vulnerability management and penetration testing.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure, networking, cloud, applications and modern security architectures.
- Experience developing and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Knowledge of AI security, governance, risk management and emerging regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience managing vendors and external security partners.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving technology environment.
