We are recruiting a Data Protection & DLP Engineer for a global energy trading company based in Geneva.


This is a technical hands-on role reporting directly to the CISO, focused on deploying and operating enterprise-wide data classification and DLP capabilities in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment.


The role requires strong technical depth to implement solutions, project management skills to sequence deployments, and the ability to investigate data exfiltration incidents.


Key Responsibilities


Technical Implementation & Automation (Priority)

  • Design and deploy technical data classification and labelling frameworks
  • Build and automate data discovery, protection and encryption policies
  • Develop scripts and technical solutions to maximise automation
  • Configure DLP tools across cloud, email, web and endpoint channels

Deployment & Project Management

  • Organise and prioritise rollout of data protection technologies
  • Define deployment roadmap and sequencing
  • Coordinate with business owners and technical teams
  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into technical controls

Incident Response & Investigation

  • Monitor and investigate DLP alerts and data exfiltration attempts daily
  • Conduct root cause analysis on data leakage incidents
  • Tune detection rules to reduce false positives and improve accuracy
  • Provide metrics and reporting to CISO and leadership


Required Experience

  • Minimum 40% of career spent on DLP, data protection or information security
  • Strong hands-on experience with 1-2 DLP platforms: Microsoft Purview, Zscaler, Varonis or equivalent
  • Proven technical implementation skills, able to deploy solutions end-to-end
  • Solid Microsoft 365 and Azure security experience
  • Experience managing data leakage investigations and security incidents
  • Scripting, automation or development background
  • Ability to work autonomously in high-pressure, regulated trading environments
  • Background in cyber security preferred, or Data Governance/Data Management with strong pivot to DLP
