As a smaller, team-oriented organization, this role requires strong collaboration across departments. Success in this position depends on building relationships, communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical teams, and being present to support day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee system security and access, including user accounts, devices, and network configurations
- Maintain and monitor security tools such as endpoint protection, IAM systems, and cloud security platforms
- Respond to security alerts, vulnerabilities, and incidents in a timely manner
- Support and execute cybersecurity initiatives including risk management, incident response, and system hardening
- Manage cybersecurity asset inventory, configuration standards, and compliance auditing
- Lead security awareness training and help build a culture of security across the organization
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to support secure operations and ongoing improvements

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of cybersecurity / IT security experience
- Incident response leadership or strong incident coordination experience
- Ability to read and interpret security logs and alerts
- Experience with EDR, Managed Detection and Response (MDR), or Extended Detection and Response (XDR)
- Experience with vulnerability management tools and processes
- Experience with network security concepts and enterprise network environments
- Experience with disaster recovery
- Experience with Microsoft Entra / identity administration
- Experience with Group Policy Objects (GPOs) / secure endpoint configuration
- Experience with NIST and CIS control implementation or operational support
- System hardening / secure baseline / configuration management experience
- Willingness to be onsite daily in St. Johns, MI and actively engage with team members
- Ability to travel up to 10% as needed
