MMD Services is recruiting for a Cloud Security Engineer on behalf of a well established, long-time client in the Chicago area. This is a hands-on role with real ownership over cloud security across AWS and Azure. You'll shape how the organization protects its cloud footprint, lead on tooling and vulnerability response, and act as the go to voice for cloud security across the business.
This is a long term, full-time, direct-hire opportunity with a stable, growing organization, not a short term contract fill. This role requires 3 days onsite per week at a corporate office just North of Chicago.
What You'll Own:
- Cloud security tooling and services from selection through day to day management
- Access provisioning processes designed for scale
- Monitoring and response to security alerts across cloud environments
- Cross functional partnership with engineering, compliance, and security leadership
- Security review of cloud architecture with practical, actionable recommendations
- Vulnerability identification and remediation across cloud infrastructure
- Cloud security policy, standards, and procedure development
- Authentication strategy for cloud based systems
- Security integration throughout the software development lifecycle
- Subject matter expertise on cloud security tools and best practices across the org
What You Bring:
- 3+ years of dedicated, hands on experience in cloud security engineering
- Real world experience architecting security solutions in AWS
- Experience configuring and running security tools like vulnerability scanners, IDS/IPS, firewalls, static analyzers, or endpoint monitoring
- Experience with SIEM or log correlation platforms
- Working knowledge of Zero Trust architecture
- Strong grasp of current cloud technology and deployment patterns
- Solid foundation in cloud and network security principles
- Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field preferred, with 5+ years cloud experience a plus
