Your new company
Please note this role requires onsite attendance in Brisbane a minimum of 4 days per week and cannot be performed remotely. Brisbane-based candidates are preferred, however interstate candidates who are genuinely committed to relocating are encouraged to apply. An NV1 Security Clearance is required for this role.
Your new role
As a Cyber Security Systems Engineer, you will work at the intersection of cyber security, systems engineering and security assurance, ensuring security is embedded throughout the design and development lifecycle of complex technology solutions. You will partner closely with software, systems and engineering teams to identify risks early, influence architectural decisions and implement Security by Design principles from requirements definition through to system delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving Security by Design and secure engineering practices across system lifecycles
- Conducting threat modelling, security risk assessments and security assurance activities
- Developing and managing security requirements and controls
- Supporting the design and implementation of secure system architectures
- Working within Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environments
- Translating security frameworks, standards and governance requirements into engineering outcomes
- Supporting verification, validation and security accreditation activities
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to mitigate security risks
- Maintaining security artefacts, technical documentation and design records
- Contributing to the ongoing maturity of cyber security engineering practices
What you'll need to succeed
You will bring a blend of cyber security, systems engineering and security assurance experience, with the ability to operate in complex and highly regulated technical environments.
Essential:
- Cyber Security Engineering, Systems Security Engineering or Security Architecture
- Threat modelling and security risk assessment methodologies
- Security Assurance and Security by Design principles
- Requirements development, traceability and security controls implementation
- Systems Engineering or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Translating governance, risk and compliance requirements into practical engineering solutions
- Working within secure development or complex engineering environments
- Stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical teams
- An NV1 security clearance
Highly desirable:
- Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, Sparx Enterprise Architect or IBM DOORS
- Secure software development lifecycles
- Defence, aerospace, government or critical infrastructure environments
- CISSP, CISM, CRISC or similar
