Application Security Engineer (SAST/OWASP) - Hybrid Braga

The project:

We're looking for an Application Security Engineer to join a global leader in application security, trusted by more than 1,800 enterprises worldwide, including 40% of the Fortune 100.

You'll work with enterprise customers, helping them identify and remediate application security vulnerabilities across a variety of technologies. This is a hands-on role combining secure code reviews, vulnerability analysis, and technical security consulting.

Location: Braga (Hybrid – 2 days/week in the office)

Compensation: €2,565 – €3,420/month net, depending on experience and seniority

What they need:

• 5+ years of software development experience in Java, .NET/C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or Python
• 5+ years of application security or security-focused code review experience
• Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10, OWASP API Security Top 10, OWASP Mobile Top 10, and PCI-DSS
• Experience with SAST tools and vulnerability analysis
• Experience creating proof-of-concept exploits
• Ability to analyse and prioritise security findings across different codebases
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable working independently in a distributed environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• Fluent English

Nice to have: Checkmarx One, Veracode, Fortify, Semgrep, SCA experience, DevSecOps, cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), security certifications (OSCP, GWEB, CSSLP, CEH), and additional languages such as Portuguese, German, or French.
