L2 / L3 Systems & Security Engineer

One way MMIT does this is through our Managed IT services, offering managed help desk, security, network design, and other services to businesses across central Iowa.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

You will support multiple client environments while also playing a key role in infrastructure improvements, endpoint management, threat detection, and other areas. This is not a helpdesk-only role — project execution, proactive support, documentation, and accountability are core expectations.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma (required)
• Bachelor’s degree encouraged, not required
• 2+ years in an MSP or multi-client environment
• Experience managing EDR and MDR toolsets
• Firewall management experience (Sonicwall, Fortigate, Meraki, etc)
• Ability to manage competing priorities across tickets and projects
• Personal drive and internal motivation towards high achievement
• Ability to work independently while being held accountable
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• L2 / L3 technical support
• Monitor and update EDR platform policy configurations according to best practice
• Triage vulnerabilities or remediation with System Administrators and Network Engineers
• Own EDR/MDR alerts from detection through resolution, including triage, threat validation, containment, remediation coordination, escalation, and full incident documentation
• Escalation Point for T1 technicians
• Develop and maintain SOP for IR
• Communicate project updates with direct manger and leadership
