Job Title: Senior Product Security Engineer – Embedded Medical Devices

Location: Burlington, MA (Hybrid)

Type of Hire: Full Time/Direct Hire

Salary range: $140K PA to $180K PA with Benefits

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Security Engineer with strong experience in embedded medical device security and product security architecture. This role focuses on designing secure-by-design solutions for connected medical devices and partnering with firmware, software, and systems engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and own security architecture for embedded and connected medical devices.
• Lead secure-by-design initiatives, including threat modeling and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, hardware, and systems engineering teams.
• Implement secure authentication, encryption, secure communications, OS hardening, and secure firmware updates.
• Lead vulnerability management, coordinate third-party penetration testing, and drive remediation.
• Develop product security standards, SOPs, and support FDA cybersecurity requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, product security, or software engineering.
• Strong medical device security experience (Required).
• Proven experience with product security architecture for embedded or connected devices.
• Hands-on experience with threat modeling, secure software design, and Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL).
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience writing production code.
• Experience with embedded Linux/Windows, firmware security, and secure design.
• Knowledge of FDA medical device cybersecurity guidance, ISO 14971, IEC 81001-5-1, and NIST is highly preferred.
