Associate Technical Product Owner (Application Security)

Location: Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Contract: 12-Month Daily Rate Contract

Start Date: ASAP


About the Role


Our client, a global technology organisation, is seeking an Associate Technical Product Owner to join its Application Security team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in cybersecurity, secure software development, and technical product ownership who is looking to develop their career in a fast-paced, innovative environment.


Working within a Secure Software Development Lifecycle (Secure SDLC) team, you'll help drive the success of a Security Champions Programme by partnering with engineering and security teams to improve secure development practices across the organisation.

This role combines technical product support, programme coordination, stakeholder engagement, and application security, making it ideal for someone looking to grow within cybersecurity.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery and ongoing development of the Security Champions Programme.
  • Assist in managing programme backlogs, priorities, and work items.
  • Gather requirements from technical stakeholders and translate them into clear, actionable tasks.
  • Coordinate onboarding and engagement activities for Security Champions across engineering teams.
  • Organise security awareness initiatives, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Develop and maintain programme documentation, FAQs, playbooks, and knowledge resources.
  • Track programme metrics, participation, and training completion using Excel and reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Support engineering teams by working with internal workflows, ticketing systems, and security processes.
  • Help embed secure development practices throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Identify opportunities to improve programme processes and operational efficiency.


About You

We're looking for someone with a technical mindset who enjoys working with engineering teams and has a genuine interest in application security.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • 1–2 years' experience in a technical support, cybersecurity, software engineering, technical project, or product support role.
  • Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience working alongside software engineering or technical teams.
  • Basic understanding of application security concepts and secure coding practices.
  • Familiarity with common security vulnerabilities such as the OWASP Top 10.
  • Exposure to security testing concepts including SAST, DAST, or dependency scanning.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable documenting technical information and communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences.


Desirable

  • Experience supporting cybersecurity or security awareness initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar collaboration tools.
  • Exposure to reporting tools such as Power BI or advanced Excel.
  • A strong interest in developing a career in Application Security, Cybersecurity, or Technical Product Management.
