Open Position: SAP ABAP Developer

About the Role

As an SAP ABAP Developer, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end SAP development solutions by collaborating with business stakeholders, functional teams, and architects to design, develop, test, deploy, and support SAP applications. You will translate business requirements into technical designs, prepare technical specification documents, develop and enhance ABAP programs, libraries, and objects, conduct code reviews, and ensure the quality and performance of delivered solutions. The role also includes supporting deployment activities, performing post-deployment testing, troubleshooting application issues, maintaining technical documentation, and assessing the impact of SAP upgrades and patches. Through close coordination with cross-functional teams, you will help ensure that SAP solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with the organization’s architecture, governance, and digital transformation objectives.

Responsibilities

1. Coordinate with all relevant stakeholders to support SAP development initiatives and ensure successful project delivery.
2. Develop and/or review SAP solution architecture designs to ensure alignment with business requirements, technical standards, and best practices.
3. Design ABAP technical solutions based on requirements provided by the Functional team.
4. Prepare and maintain Technical Specification Documents (TSD) for SAP developments and enhancements.
5. Develop, enhance, and maintain ABAP programs, including the required libraries, objects, interfaces, reports, forms, and custom developments.
6. Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with development standards, code quality, performance, and security requirements.
7. Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities to ensure solution quality.
8. Provide deployment support and coordinate implementation activities during system releases and go-live processes.
9. Support post-deployment testing, issue resolution, and stabilization activities to ensure successful implementation.
10. Prepare and maintain all required technical documentation related to SAP development, enhancements, and support activities.
11. Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, defects, and production incidents to maintain system stability and performance.
12. Perform impact analysis and testing activities for SAP version upgrades, patches, and system enhancements to ensure compatibility and minimize operational risks.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
3. Minimum 4 years of experience working as a Technical SAP ABAP Consultant, preferably within the SAP Finance domain.
4. Hands-on experience with Dialog Programming, Smart Forms, and SAP Script.
5. Strong experience in SAP Data Interfaces and Reporting, including RFC, REST API, ALE, ALV, IDocs, BDC, BAPI, and LSMW.
6. Experience with SAP Enhancement Framework, including User Exits, BADIs, BTEs, and Enhancement Options.
7. Proficiency in SQL Trace, SAP Runtime Analysis, ABAP Debugging, Object-Oriented ABAP (OO ABAP), ABAP CDS, and AMDP.
8. Experience working with SAP UI5 and modern SAP user interface development.
9. Experience in data migration projects from legacy/existing systems to SAP will be considered a strong advantage.
10. Solid understanding of system design, database concepts, programming, software testing, and application development methodologies.
11. Knowledge of banking accounting processes and financial operations is preferred.
