About the Company

We are seeking a highly capable Full Stack Engineer who can take ownership of business-critical software initiatives from concept through deployment and long-term support. This role is responsible for translating business needs into scalable, production-ready applications across multiple client environments while maintaining strong engineering standards and execution speed.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Client Technology, this individual will work across greenfield development, legacy modernization, inherited systems, and live production environments. The role includes owning and extending applications primarily built in React, with working proficiency in Angular, while supporting a variety of client technologies and business needs. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on delivery, problem-solving, and technical ownership. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating independently, embedding within client teams when needed, and balancing technical execution with business communication.

Responsibilities

  • Build and Deliver Production Software
  • Design, develop, deploy, and support full stack applications from initial concept through production.
  • Work across frontend and backend systems in a variety of environments and architectures.
  • Make practical architectural decisions aligned to business requirements, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate directly with stakeholders, internal teams, and clients to drive successful outcomes.
  • Own Systems in Production
  • Support and maintain applications post-launch, including monitoring, deployments, bug fixes, and enhancements.
  • Ensure strong standards around security, logging, observability, and deployment practices.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability and performance.
  • Take Over and Stabilize Existing Systems
  • Lead transitions from third-party vendors or internal teams.
  • Secure access to repositories, environments, configurations, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify technical gaps, risks, and dependencies early in the process.
  • Establish stable and maintainable production environments.
  • Modernize and Improve Applications
  • Identify opportunities for refactoring, modernization, and technical debt reduction.
  • Support migrations, upgrades, integrations, and performance improvements.
  • Align systems with evolving business and client requirements.
  • Utilize AI and Modern Development Practices
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate development, debugging, testing, and documentation.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment regarding maintainability, security, and accuracy.
  • Improve development workflows and team efficiency through repeatable processes.
  • Support Internal Product and Client Initiatives
  • Contribute to the design and development of internal tools and client-facing software solutions.
  • Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions and implementation plans.
  • Participate in roadmap discussions, scoping, and solution planning.
  • Partner in Solution Design and Client Engagements
  • Help define technical requirements, timelines, and project scope during pre-sales and discovery efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide clarity around risks, trade-offs, priorities, and project status.
  • Drive Engineering Standards and Accountability
  • Help establish and maintain engineering best practices and development standards.
  • Promote ownership, accountability, and proactive communication.
  • Support and mentor other engineers as the team grows.

First 90 Days

The initial focus will involve taking ownership of two React-based applications transitioning from an outgoing vendor. Responsibilities will include stabilizing the environments, supporting production readiness, and becoming the primary technical owner in collaboration with the Director of Client Technology. The role will then expand into broader client initiatives and new application development.

Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of full stack engineering experience delivering production software.
  • Strong experience with React and working proficiency in Angular.
  • Backend development experience with technologies such as C#, .NET, Node.js, Python, or similar.
  • Experience with relational databases including SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Experience supporting and inheriting existing codebases and production systems.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, deployment, and operational best practices.
  • Comfortable working independently across multiple projects and environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Organized, proactive, and execution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in regulated or compliance-focused environments such as SOC 2, HIPAA, or FINRA is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership, ownership, and composure in fast-paced environments.

Work Environment

This is primarily an in-office position (4+ days per week).
