Our challenge

We are seeking three RPG Developers to support the development, maintenance, and modernization of applications running on IBM iSeries (AS400) environments. This role is critical to ensuring the stability, performance, and ongoing enhancement of core business systems that support day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience in IBM iSeries development, a solid understanding of system operations, and the ability to work across legacy and evolving application environments. You will collaborate with technical teams to analyze existing programs, implement changes, troubleshoot issues, and support controlled deployments using established source and change management practices.

The Role: RPG Developer

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications on IBM iSeries (AS400) platforms.
• Write, modify, and support programs using RPG, RPG IV, RPG ILE, SQLRPG, and CLLE.
• Analyze business and technical requirements to design effective and reliable application solutions.
• Support day-to-day programming activities within IBM iSeries operational environments.
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for application and system issues.
• Conduct impact analysis for program changes, enhancements, and production fixes.
• Work with IBM iSeries application development toolsets such as SEU, RLU, SDA, and related tools.
• Collaborate with operations, analysts, and other developers to ensure timely delivery of enhancements and fixes.
• Follow source control and change management processes using Aldon CMS or similar tools.
• Support application testing, deployment, and post-implementation validation.

Requirements:

• Proven working experience as an IBM iSeries (AS400) programmer.
• Strong understanding of IBM iSeries (AS400) operations.
• Hands-on experience with IBM iSeries languages including RPG, RPG IV, RPG ILE, SQLRPG, and CLLE.
• Deep knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS400) application development toolsets such as SEU, RLU, SDA, and similar tools.
• Experience with IBM iSeries debugging and impact analysis tools.
• Familiarity with source control systems such as Aldon CMS or other change management tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple development tasks.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering stable, high-quality solutions.
