About the Role:

My client is an engineering organisation operating within the green energy and utilities sector, delivering technology solutions that support critical infrastructure such as electricity, water, gas, and telecommunications networks.

They are currently seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join their growing development team near Liège. This role focuses on the design, development, and maintenance of embedded software systems within a collaborative, agile engineering environment.

The position offers exposure to a wide range of embedded and industrial applications, with a strong emphasis on quality, reliability, and long-term product sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse and review product requirements and assess technical feasibility.
• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software components and system integrations.
• Define and support realistic development planning in collaboration with project stakeholders.
• Participate in peer code reviews to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Develop and execute unit tests and validation activities.
• Maintain technical documentation across the software lifecycle.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and provide technical input where required.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ development.
• Experience with embedded Linux environments (Yocto, kernel-level work, shell scripting).
• Solid understanding of embedded systems development.
• Familiarity with SQL databases.
• Fluent French and English speaking
