The opportunity

At Hitachi Energy, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape how modern power grids operate and evolve. As a Data Management Engineer – Grid, you will support our Grid Automation business by designing and delivering data management solutions that enable electricity market operations, power system analysis, and real‑time control.

You will work at the intersection of engineering, software, and energy systems, collaborating closely with customers and internal teams to transform complex requirements into practical, high‑performance solutions. Your contributions will support applications that are memory‑intensive, analytically demanding, and critical to the reliability and efficiency of electricity markets and power systems.

From initial design through development, testing, integration, and release support, you will be involved across the full lifecycle of software and data engineering. Your background

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience in software development or data engineering
  • Knowledge of power systems and electricity markets
  • Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or FORTRAN
  • Experience with relational databases and Linux
  • Strong communication skills in English
