What You Will Do
- Provide day‑to‑day support for Python‑based desktop and manufacturing software used across Molex plants in China and Vietnam.
- Troubleshoot issues related to production test stations, automation software, data acquisition, and validation workflows.
- Assist in resolving software bugs, user issues, and plant‑floor disruptions by partnering closely with engineers, technicians, and global SSG team members.
- Perform software configuration updates, minor code enhancements, and routine maintenance in Python‑based tools.
- Extend existing tools and build new features for plant users—prioritizing usability, performance, and maintainability—while following SSG development practices including code reviews and verification/validation.
- Support deployment, testing, and verification of new software features or releases on the plant floor.
- Work with electrical, mechanical, and signal‑integrity engineers to support test system stability and ensure accurate data collection.
- Document troubleshooting steps, maintain support logs, and communicate recurring issues to SSG for larger enhancements.
- Conduct basic code reviews, functional testing, and validation checks when rolling out updates.
- Analyze test results and collaborate on implementing software improvements to enhance reliability and production efficiency.
- Contribute feedback from plant users to help shape the development of scalable tools and future improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience supporting engineering or manufacturing environments, including exposure to test systems or production software.
- Practical experience with Python, including the ability to understand, maintain, and modify scripted tools or applications.
- Familiarity with software architecture principles related to usability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Fluency in English & Mandarin
- Experience with Git, SVN, or other source control tools.
- Understanding of standard software verification and validation practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to clearly explain technical information to diverse teams.
- Analytical problem‑solving skills, including the ability to test assumptions, interpret results, and recommend corrective actions.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for documentation and reporting.
