Compensation: $116,000.00 annually


Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Application Integration Engineer to join our team. Position is associated with the employer’s headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, though telecommuting is permitted up to 100%.


Key Responsibilities:

Research and analyze customer ERP and e-commerce workflows and business requirements to determine the feasibility of software designs for automated tax-calculation and reporting. Confer with cross-functional teams, including systems analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders, to gather requirements, define system specifications, and resolve technical constraints. Design, develop, and maintain integration services that capture transaction and line-item data from ERP systems (including QuickBooks, Dynamics, and NetSuite) and invoke proprietary tax-calculation APIs to return accurate tax amounts. Build secure integrations utilizing REST APIs, webhooks, and polling systems with authentication, validation, logging, and error handling to ensure correct and auditable data synchronization. Implement cloud-based integration components using .NET (C#) and AWS services (including Lambda and S3); develop supporting data models and queries using SQL; maintain supporting integration scripts and services using PHP. Develop and execute unit and integration test plans using containerization and API management tools to ensure cross-platform consistency and data integrity. Troubleshoot and fix production issues through code analysis, debugging, and performance optimization; modify existing software to remediate defects and improve interfaces and reporting outputs. Prepare technical documentation and status reports concerning project specifications, system design decisions, and integration activities.


Minimum Requirements:

Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Special Skills: .NET (C#), AWS (Lambda, S3), REST APIs, SQL, and PHP are required.

· Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to non-tax professionals and management.

· Software Proficiency: Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
