Software Engineer – SAP S/4HANA (ABAP)

Location: Budapest, Hungary (Hybrid)

Contract Type: 12 Months plus extensions

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Software Engineer – SAP S/4HANA (ABAP) to join a collaborative product engineering team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining SAP S/4HANA Asset Management solutions while ensuring compliance with SAP development standards, quality guidelines, and best practices.

Working across the full software development lifecycle, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality SAP solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support ongoing product maintenance and customer success.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deliver SAP S/4HANA Asset Management features in accordance with SAP development standards and product guidelines
• Develop complete, tested, and well-documented software features that meet functional and technical requirements
• Configure SAP S/4HANA business processes, including Asset Management, Maintenance, and Materials Management, to support development and testing activities
• Create and maintain comprehensive test data for feature validation and integration scenarios
• Develop and maintain automated tests using SAP testing frameworks including AUnit, PTF, and QMate
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to ensure product quality and backward compatibility
• Participate in code reviews with Software Architects and development team members to maintain high coding standards
• Collaborate with User Assistance teams to provide technical information for product documentation
• Support maintenance activities by investigating and resolving customer issues through ServiceNow in accordance with defined KPIs and SLAs
• Create SAP Notes where required to deliver fixes and technical solutions
• Prepare technical handover documentation and support transition to Product Support and AIS teams
• Maintain development documentation and project artefacts within SharePoint and other collaboration platforms

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in SAP software development
• Experience developing complex features and integrations within SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud environments
• Strong experience across the full software development lifecycle
• Expert knowledge of ABAP programming and the ABAP Development Environment
• Strong Object-Oriented programming skills with proven experience in ABAP Objects (ABAP OO)
• Experience developing automated tests using ABAP Unit, PTF, and test isolation techniques
• Good knowledge of SAP Fiori and/or CRM WebUI
• Experience using SAP development technologies and frameworks including RAP, BAPI, OData, Gateway, AUnit, PTF, QMate, 1Order, and S/4HANA Private Cloud
• Experience using project collaboration tools such as Jira and SharePoint
