Backend Developer

Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Budapest, Asura Technologies Zrt. is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join our team. We design, develop, and deploy AI‑powered parking, traffic‑monitoring, and security systems worldwide, built on our own video analytics and automatic license plate recognition software.Asura operates globally: the United States is our key market, and through strategic partners we are present in numerous European and Asian projects. With us, you can shape international trends from Hungary. Our team has grown from the initial 3 to 180+ people, with ~25 additional colleagues working with us in the U.S.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Design and develop backend components of our microservice‑based systems (.NET 8, C#, ASP.NET Core Web API)
• Build highly available and scalable services; performance optimization
• Data handling and modeling in PostgreSQL/MS SQL and NoSQL environments (e.g., MongoDB, Redis)
• Design, implement, and monitor message‑queue‑based asynchronous systems (RabbitMQ)
• Establish and improve observability (logging, metrics, traces)
• Write unit, integration, and component tests
• Actively participate in design, code reviews, and sprint processes in close collaboration with Product, QA, and DevOps
• Mentor colleagues (pair programming, knowledge sharing)
• Create and maintain technical documentation

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of professional .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core) development experience
• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
• Confident use of relational (PostgreSQL or MS SQL) and at least one NoSQL database
• Familiarity with message queue technologies (e.g., RabbitMQ)
• Testing principles and practice (unit, integration, mocking)
• Version control: Git; code quality (clean code, SOLID, patterns)
• Analytical mindset, strong problem‑solving skills, sense of ownership
• Working proficiency in Hungarian

NICE TO HAVE

• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins)
• Cloud services (AWS or Azure: managed databases, message queues, container services)
• Deeper knowledge of distributed systems: idempotency, consistency patterns
• Security fundamentals (OWASP), encryption, secrets management
• Monitoring/observability tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana)
