SENIOR FULL STACK .NET ENGINEER

Work Location: Budapest, Hungary

Work Structure: Full-Time, Remote/Hybrid (Budapest Office)

We are building a new Global Engineering Organization (GEO) to strengthen internal software delivery, improve production ownership, and establish long-term engineering excellence across the organization.

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack .NET Engineer to join our growing engineering organization and help design, build, maintain, and improve business-critical internal software platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for developing scalable backend services, modern frontend applications, APIs, integrations, and production-ready software solutions that support global business operations.

Working from our Budapest, Hungary office in a hybrid environment, you will collaborate closely with Product & Delivery Managers, Product Group Team Leads & Architects, QA Engineers, DevOps, Database Administrators, Infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality software while supporting production systems.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working across both greenfield development and mature enterprise applications, including legacy systems, complex business workflows, production defects, technical debt, and system modernization initiatives.

Insight on Your Impact

As a Senior Full Stack .NET Engineer, you will:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications using .NET / C# on the backend and Angular on the frontend.
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs, backend services, integrations, background jobs, and data-driven application features.
  • Develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces using modern frontend technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Work with SQL Server-backed applications, optimizing data access, query performance, stored procedures, and production data behavior.
  • Translate engineering-ready backlog items and acceptance criteria into practical, scalable technical solutions.
  • Partner closely with Product & Delivery Managers to clarify business requirements, user workflows, edge cases, and release expectations.
  • Collaborate with Product Group Team Leads and Architects on technical design, implementation strategies, estimates, dependencies, and delivery risks.
  • Write clean, maintainable, secure, and well-documented code following GEO engineering standards and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews while providing constructive feedback focused on quality, maintainability, performance, and security.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests including unit, integration, API, and UI testing where appropriate.
  • Support QA and Product teams during defect triage, regression testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), release validation, and post-production verification.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues, application defects, integration failures, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to corrective actions following production incidents.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt through refactoring, modernization, and performance improvements.
  • Document technical decisions, implementation details, support procedures, and system behavior to improve long-term maintainability.
  • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and engineering best practices.

Your Qualifications, Your Influence

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong hands-on expertise in .NET / C#, ASP.NET Core, or similar Microsoft technologies.
  • Strong frontend development experience using Angular; experience with React, Vue.js, or other modern JavaScript frameworks is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, browser behavior, responsive design, and frontend application architecture.
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
  • Strong experience working with relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server; PostgreSQL or MySQL experience is beneficial.
  • Thorough understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, software design patterns, secure coding practices, and maintainable application architecture.
  • Experience supporting enterprise software applications, legacy systems, production environments, and complex business workflows.
  • Experience working with Git-based development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development lifecycle practices.
  • Practical experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar Agile work management platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, databases, integrations, and production environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently within distributed engineering teams.
  • A strong ownership mindset with a willingness to support production systems in addition to developing new software features.

Preferred Skills and Technical Familiarity

The following experience will help you excel in this role:

  • Experience with ERP platforms, warehouse management systems, purchasing, sales, finance, or other enterprise business applications.
  • Experience working within Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or hybrid cloud/on-premise environments.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployment strategies.
  • Experience with message queues, event-driven architectures, scheduled jobs, background processing, or integration middleware.
  • Experience using automated testing frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with application observability, including logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing, alerting, and production diagnostics.
  • Experience modernizing legacy applications through safe refactoring, performance optimization, and technical debt reduction.
  • Background supporting technology, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, electronic components, or other B2B enterprise environments.
  • Interest in AI-assisted software development tools that improve engineering productivity, quality, and developer experience.

What This Role Does Not Own

  • This role does not have formal people management responsibilities. Engineering Managers retain responsibility for hiring, performance management, compensation decisions, organizational planning, and team capacity.
  • This role does not own business prioritization or user acceptance. Product & Delivery Managers and business stakeholders remain responsible for backlog prioritization, UAT coordination, and business acceptance.
  • This role does not independently establish product architecture. Technical direction is defined collaboratively with Product Group Team Leads, Architects, Engineering Managers, and GEO leadership.
  • This role does not independently commit delivery timelines without alignment from Product & Delivery Managers and engineering leadership.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
  • Collaborative global engineering environment
  • Hybrid work model
