Technology Analyst 1 (Rapid Application Development) - Public Safety

Under the direction of the Manager Information Technology Services 1 within the New York State Public Safety Portfolio (PSP), the Technology Analyst 1 (Rapid Application Development) will serve the NYS Waterfront Commission.
Specific Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Develop full-stack applications using Microsoft's .NET framework and related technologies, including C#, ASP.NET, and Entity Framework.
- Create and maintain scripts in Microsoft SQL Server.
- Follow the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, deployment, and post-implementation support.
- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code in accordance with design specifications.
- Test applications for performance, reliability, and correctness, working closely with the application users.
- Perform unit testing to validate the functionality and usability of the developed code.
- Use SQL Server for data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Work directly with users to provide comprehensive technical support for new and legacy applications.
- Substitutions: Associate’s degree with 15 semester credit hours in computer science or a related field substitutes for one year of general information technology experience. Candidates in a bachelor’s degree program with at least 15 semester credit hours in computer science or a related field can substitute for one year of general information technology experience.
- Specialty includes experience within one or more of the following information technology disciplines: artificial intelligence, cloud solutions, human centered design, product management, quality assurance, rapid application development, robotic product management, geospatial information services.
- 5-8 years of experience in application development using .NET, frameworks, and technologies, including five (5) years in C#.NET and technologies, and five (5) years in MS SQL Server.
- Experience transforming or building applications in the NYS agencies, NYC government, or Federal government technology projects.

- Appointment to this position and continued employment with the agency is contingent upon obtaining and/or maintaining New York State residency within six months of hiring.

Fingerprinting and a background check is required for employment with ITS.
Some positions may require up to 25% travel and/or lifting up to 50 lbs. Some positions are pending Civil Service approval. Details of position(s) will be described further if you are selected for an interview.
If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $4,000 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $2,000 adjustment location pay.
