Position: Staff Product Application Engineer
Location: Beijing, China
Role Summary
As a Staff Product Application Engineer, you will provide system‑level and security‑focused technical leadership for China BU OCP products, spanning product definition, embedded firmware interaction, application enablement, and production release.
This role emphasizes security‑by‑design, hardware–firmware co‑architecture, and real customer system deployment, going beyond traditional application support.
Key Responsibilities
- Own system‑level understanding of products across hardware, embedded firmware, and security mechanisms, ensuring correct and secure usage in customer systems.
- Influence product definition and architecture by translating customer requirements into electrical, embedded, and security feature needs.
- Collaborate closely with IC design, firmware/software, and marketing/system teams throughout the full product lifecycle.
- Support and review embedded firmware and security features, such as device configuration, diagnostics, robustness, and controlled firmware update flows.
- Lead resolution of complex customer issues involving hardware‑firmware‑system interactions, using structured debugging and root‑cause analysis.
- Provide technical leadership during key customer engagements, including design‑in discussions, security considerations, and roadmap alignment.
- Develop application collateral, including application notes, reference designs, and example software, with clear guidance on secure and robust system use.
- Contribute to internal best practices and mentor junior application engineers.
- MSEE or above in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Solid experience with embedded systems, including MCU interaction, device configuration, and firmware‑hardware behavior.
- Working knowledge of security concepts in embedded IC systems, such as secure configuration, firmware integrity, and system robustness.
- The below knowledge and skills will be plus:
- Understand basic circuit theory and basic analog circuit design theory, such as ADC, DAC, and AMP
- PCB schematic and layout experience, program skill such as C/C++/C# and so on
- Familiar with laboratory instruments and circuit troubleshooting
- Strong system‑level debugging and cross‑team communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Required Travel: Yes, 10% of the time
