Software Developer - COBOL (m/w/d)

• Application Maintenance & Optimization: Maintain, enhance, and optimize existing COBOL applications running on mainframe environments.
• System Modernization: Participate in the migration or modernization of legacy COBOL systems and related technologies.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and reliability of applications through code reviews, thorough testing, and comprehensive documentation.
• Production Support: Support production systems, troubleshoot runtime issues, and implement fixes in a timely manner.
• Mainframe Experience: Several years of professional experience in software development and maintenance, working with both online and batch programs on mainframe environments using COBOL, VSE, VSAM, and CICS.
• Technical Skills: Good knowledge of Job Control Language (JCL).
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to understand, navigate, and maintain complex existing codebases.
• Working Style: Strong problem-solving skills paired with a structured, organized working style.
• Language Proficiency: Good communication skills in German (Minimum C1 level).
