Scoopterra is building a new generation of location intelligence software that helps businesses, financial institutions, real estate professionals and public organizations make better location decisions.

Our platform combines geospatial, demographic, mobility, spending, commercial and real estate data to evaluate and rank locations based on the specific needs of each use case. The Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to help scale the technology behind Scoopterra.

You will play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining the backend services that power our platform, working closely with our data scientists and product team to transform complex geospatial analytics into a fast, reliable and intuitive user experience.

From designing APIs and optimizing databases to integrating analytical models and improving system performance, you'll contribute to every stage of the product's evolution. This is an opportunity to work on challenging technical problems while helping shape both the architecture and the future direction of an ambitious early-stage startup.

What You'll Do

· Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI.

· Develop and maintain RESTful APIs that power the Scoopterra platform.

· Design and optimize PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases and spatial queries.

· Integrate geospatial analytics and recommendation services into production systems.

· Collaborate closely with data scientists to deploy analytical models and data pipelines.

· Build reliable, secure and well-tested software following modern engineering best practices.

· Optimize application performance, scalability and reliability.

· Contribute to system architecture, technical decisions and code reviews.

· Work with Docker and modern development workflows to support deployment and operations.

· Continuously improve the platform by identifying opportunities for better performance, maintainability and user experience.

Required Skills

· Strong Python programming skills.

· Experience building applications with FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks.

· Experience developing RESTful APIs.

· Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.

· Experience with React and Next.js.

· Solid SQL knowledge.

· Experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS.

· Experience working with Redis.

· Experience using Docker for development and deployment.

· Experience using Git in collaborative software development.
