Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop PowerShell scripts to automate execution of SQL Server stored procedures.
- Create and configure Windows Task Scheduler jobs for scheduled and event-driven execution.
- Implement parameter-driven script execution for multiple environments (DEV, QA, PROD).
- Connect securely to SQL Server databases using PowerShell.
- Execute stored procedures and validate successful completion.
- Handle database connectivity, authentication, and execution exceptions.
- Capture execution metrics including runtime, success/failure status, and return codes.
- Design and implement comprehensive logging capabilities beyond native Task Scheduler logging.
- Log execution details, errors, performance metrics, and operational events.
- Generate structured logs suitable for SIEM ingestion
- Create alerting mechanisms for failed executions, timeouts, and abnormal conditions.
- Support audit and compliance reporting requirements.
- Implement retry logic, failure recovery, and exception handling.
- Design notification workflows via email, Teams, ServiceNow, or SIEM integration.
- Ensure automated jobs are resilient and operationally supportable.
- Document script architecture, scheduling configurations, logging standards, and operational procedures.
- Provide implementation recommendations and best practices.
- Work with infrastructure, database, and security teams to ensure successful deployment.
- 5+ years of PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
- Strong experience with Windows Server administration and Task Scheduler.
- Experience executing SQL Server stored procedures from PowerShell.
