AI Engineer - 12 month contract - Abu Dhabi

Salary: AED 18,000 per month + VISA + Healthcare

Our consultancy client is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to join a major AI programme in Abu Dhabi, focused on building a pro-code autonomous agent ecosystem using modern open-source technologies. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who can design, build, and deploy scalable GenAI platforms, multi-agent workflows, and secure AI infrastructure.

You will be responsible for developing advanced agentic systems, implementing AI safety and governance layers, and deploying high-performance open-source LLMs across scalable infrastructure.

Requirements

• 6+ years’ experience in software engineering/Data Science
• 2+ years’ hands-on experience with Generative AI
• Expert-level Python, including asyncio and Pydantic v2
• Strong TypeScript/Node.js experience
• Experience with open-source AI orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI or AutoGen
• Knowledge of vector databases such as Milvus, Weaviate, Qdrant or ChromaDB
• Experience with observability tools such as Arize Phoenix, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Grafana or MLflow
• Strong understanding of LLMOps, model lifecycle management and scalable AI deployment
• Must be comfortable working onsite in Abu Dhabi

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build complex multi-agent systems using tools such as LangGraph, CrewAI or AutoGen
• Develop Agentic RAG pipelines using LlamaIndex, Haystack or similar
• Implement custom tool-calling logic and MCP integrations with internal databases and APIs
• Build AI safety and governance layers using Guardrails AI, NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails or similar
• Deploy and optimise open-source models such as Llama, Mistral or Qwen
• Work with high-throughput serving engines including vLLM, Hugging Face TGI, Ollama or Seldon Core
• Build scalable AI infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform/Pulumi
• Develop low-latency, streaming-first interfaces using React, TypeScript/Node.js and Vercel AI SDK
• Create human-in-the-loop dashboards for real-time review, approval and intervention
