Key Responsibilities
- Cloud administration
- Design/build Corient’s cloud platform foundation across Azure (with potential multi-cloud Azure exposure with multi-tenant Azure and multi-geo for Microsoft 365)
- Develop infrastructure-as-code frameworks using Terraform, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines that enable self-service developer workflows
- Data Protection, Backup, and DR (Disaster Recovery)
- Design and implement multi-region availability and DR strategies to ensure business continuity, RTO/RPO compliance, and resilience for mission-critical wealth management systems
- Database and storage backup monitoring
- Infrastructure monitoring and incident management
- Build observability, reliability, and security guardrails onto the platform from day one
- Establish real-time monitoring and continuous surveillance of system health (e.g., 3rd party data pipelines).
- Incident response, serving as first line of defense for outages. This includes troubleshooting bottlenecks and executing RCAs (Root Cause Analysis) for continuous improvement.
- Patch management – establish process and reviews to ensure security standards are maintained
- Audit readiness - Partner cross-functionally with Security, Data, and Application Engineering to deliver enterprise-grade infrastructure that meets ICFR, SOC-1, SOC-2, ISO 27001, and SEC compliance requirements
- Establish Kubernetes (EKS) standards including cluster architecture, networking, autoscaling, and cost optimization
- Contribute to M&A infrastructure integrations as Corient continues its acquisition strategy
- Architect serverless solutions using Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, and event-driven patterns to optimize cost, scale, and operational efficiency
- Build runbooks and standardized procedures for rapidly deploying infrastructure during M&A integrations, enabling repeatable, low-friction onboarding of acquired company environments
- Mentor and influence - even as an individual contributor, you’ll set technical direction and raise the engineering bar across the team
- 8+ years of platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE engineering experience
- Deep expertise in Azure (AKS, IAM, VPC, networking, security)
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
- Experience with performance and observability tooling such as Datadog, Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana, ELK, New Relic, or new generation AI dev ops tools.
- Proficient in at least one of Python, Go, or TypeScript for automation and tooling
- Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, and compliance frameworks
- Hands-on experience with serverless platforms (Azure Functions, AWS Lambda) and event-driven architecture
- Excellent communication skills and a bias toward action
- Experience in regulated industries (FinTech, Wealth Management, Healthcare)
- Background in M&A infrastructure integration
- Multi-cloud experience (Azure, GCP)
- Experience with Databricks, data platform engineering, or modern data stack
- SOC2, FINRA, or SEC compliance experience
- This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, which may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. - This position is required to work onsite 4 days per week.
