Senior Platform Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Platform Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to drive platform maturity, cloud infrastructure optimisation, observability, and environment automation. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving operational efficiency, reducing platform costs, enhancing monitoring capabilities, and delivering scalable, repeatable infrastructure solutions.

This role requires strong hands on expertise across Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, observability tooling, and cloud governance, with a focus on building robust, automated platform capabilities that enable engineering teams to deliver efficiently and securely.

Key Responsibilities

Observability & Cost Optimisation

Implement repeatable processes for cost-efficient observability platform management and data ingestion.

Design and develop reusable monitoring templates, dashboards, and alerting standards.Build dashboards and reporting solutions for third-party services and platform dependences.

Drive adoption of observability tooling as the primary platform diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilty.

Identify opportunities to optimise monitoring costs while maintaining operational visibility.Establish best practices for platform monitoring, reliability, and operational excellence.

Platform Engineering & Environment Provisioning

Design and automate access management processes, including access package creation, onboarding workflows, and entitlement management.

Develop repeatable, end-to-end processes for provisioning new environments, including:Azure DevOps project creation and configuration Service connection and access group setupAzure subscription provisoning Kubernetes cluster deployment and registration Platform tooling integration Namespace and RBAC configuration Network connectivity implementation Validation and deployment of reference applications.

Cloud Infrastructure & Platform

• MaturityLead cloud migration activities, ensuring minimal disruption and consistent delivery patterns.Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards using Terraform.

• Establish clear infrastructure boundaries and dependency management across shared and application-specific services.Define and enforce cloud governance, security, and operational best practices.Drive standardisation and repeatability across platform services and environments.

CI/CD & Developer

• Enablement Improve software delivery processes through CI/CD optimisation.Decouple Continuous Integration from Continuous Deployment workflows.Enable automated build pipelines with security validation, testing, and container image publishing.Support GitHub and Azure DevOps integration strategies.Promote infrastructure automation and self-service capabilities for engineerng teams.
