As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be a technical leader responsible for the strategic design, high-level architecture, implementation, and optimisation of our national enterprise network infrastructure. You will bridge the gap between traditional enterprise IT and cutting-edge broadcast environments, ensuring our corporate offices and national broadcast studios run on a secure, low-latency, resilient network

Tapt Media formally Nine Radio is Australia’s leading commercial talk radio network. Home to the country’s most influential stations 2GB, 3AW, 4BC, and 6PR as well as a growing slate of podcast titles, we reach millions of Australians every week. With a focus on "Live and Local" content, we offer Australians and brands the intimacy and trust of radio, combined with the deep engagement and storytelling of podcasts and social.

Note on Ownership: Nine Radio is proud to have recently joined Tapt Media. While this recruitment process is being managed by Nine under a transition of services agreement, the successful candidate will be employed directly by Tapt Media.

Day to day you will:

  • Lead the design, scaling, and high-level management of Tapt Media's national corporate and production networks across our Australian hubs.
  • Own the lifecycle management, configuration, and advanced troubleshooting of our Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switching and routing ecosystems.
  • Architect and optimise highly reliable, high-bandwidth networks capable of supporting continuous Audio over IP (AoIP) protocols (such as AES67, Dante, and Livewire+) alongside standard enterprise traffic.
  • Manage and integrate secondary tier network layers including Juniper routing, Fortinet firewalls, and Ubiquiti UniFi outside broadcast ecosystems.
  • Utilise zero trust principles to ensure robust edge security, firewalls, and segmentation to protect business-critical assets.
  • Serve as the senior technical escalation point for network outages, performance degradation, and complex routing issues, while mentoring junior IT/engineering staff.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • 7+ Years of Experience with a proven track record in a Senior Network Engineer or Network Architect role within an enterprise environment (Media, Telecommunications, or complex multi-site corporate sectors preferred).
  • Expert Cisco knowledge with deep, hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus data centre environments and Catalyst enterprise networks (CCNP or equivalent knowledge).
  • Advanced media networking skills with a comprehensive understanding of PTP distribution, L3 multicast networks (PIM), and AoIP broadcast standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of enterprise routing and switching protocols including advanced multicast routing (BGP, OSPF, IGMP & PIM, SD-WAN, STP, VXLAN, and VPNs).
  • Desirable: Proficiency with Cisco Nexus/Catalyst, Juniper OS (JUNOS), Fortigate Firewalls, and Meinberg/Tektronix PTP Clocks.
  • Desirable: Experience with SIP and VoIP telephony (such as CUCM & Webex Cloud) and deploying automated network monitoring tools like Ansible.
