We are looking for an experienced OpenShift Platform Administrator to join an Infrastructure, Production & Security team within a large-scale and highly regulated environment.
This is a true Platform Engineering role focused on building, operating, maintaining, and evolving enterprise-grade Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform environments. You will be responsible for the platform itself—not the applications running on it.
Location: Porto, Portugal
Work Model: Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)
About the Role
You will manage on-premises OpenShift clusters supporting multiple business units and mission-critical workloads. The role covers the full platform lifecycle, including cluster administration, networking, storage, security, observability, automation, and disaster recovery.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, and maintain Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.x clusters across Development, Staging, Production, and Disaster Recovery environments
- Manage cluster networking, including OpenShift SDN / OVN-Kubernetes, Network Policies, Ingress Controllers, Egress IPs, TLS Certificates, and Service Mesh components
- Administer storage integrations with SAN/NAS platforms, OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF/Ceph), CSI Drivers, Persistent Volumes, Snapshots, and Backup Solutions
- Manage identity and security integrations, including LDAP, Active Directory, OAuth Providers, RBAC, SCCs, Pod Security Standards, and Admission Controls
- Support and govern multi-tenant OpenShift environments through namespace strategies, quotas, and onboarding processes
- Manage Operators lifecycle using OperatorHub and OLM
- Maintain monitoring, observability, and logging solutions including Prometheus, Alertmanager, Loki, Grafana, and enterprise monitoring integrations
- Plan and execute disaster recovery strategies, backup and restore procedures, and failover exercises
- Implement patching, vulnerability management, and security hardening initiatives
- Automate platform operations using Ansible, GitOps, and ArgoCD
- Act as a technical escalation point for application teams using the platform
- Contribute to operational documentation, runbooks, and on-call activities
Mandatory Requirements
- Hands-on administration experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.x in production environments
- Experience performing cluster installations, upgrades, and lifecycle management (IPI or UPI deployments)
- Experience with OpenShift on bare-metal and/or VMware-based infrastructure
- Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL preferred)
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture and administration
- Deep knowledge of OpenShift-specific components such as Routes, SCCs, Operators, BuildConfigs, and ImageStreams
- Practical experience managing OpenShift networking and RBAC at scale
- Strong knowledge of OpenShift CLI (oc), kubectl, and YAML configuration management
- Experience with monitoring and logging platforms such as Prometheus, Alertmanager, Loki, or EFK
- Professional English communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF) / Ceph
- Experience with GitOps and ArgoCD
- Knowledge of Advanced Cluster Management (ACM)
- Experience with Quay Registry and Advanced Cluster Security (ACS)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Ansible Automation
- OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, EX280, EX380, etc.)
