Ansible Automation & Satellite Administrator

Job Purpose:

Linux Server administration for Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat Satellite and Django based applications (APIs, Automatic Patching)

Maintaining the Ansible Automation Platform, Satellite and Django based applications (APIs, Automatic Patching)

24/7 including On-Call support activities of Linux servers hosting Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat Satellite and Django based applications (APIs, Automatic Patching)

OpenShift platform support for Ansible Automation Platform and Django based applications (APIs, Automatic Patching)

CI/CD Pipeline management

Work Arrangement:

EMEA Hours 08:00 – 17:00 (UTC +01:00) or Malaysian Hours from 3:00PM - 12:00AM. You may need to support on-call and out of hours support.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensuring the underlying Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems hosting Ansible Automation
2. Platform, Satellite and Django based applications (APIs, Automatic Patching) are properly configured, secured, monitored and operated according to best practices.
3. Operational support of Red Hat OpenShift components - Managing incidents and tickets in internal system until resolution. - Interacting with internal customers and providing support.
4. Responding to queries, performing initial debugging of reported issues.
5. Providing traceability and auditability by documenting changes, configuration and updates in
6. accordance with change management processes.
7. Monitoring and maintaining the Ansible Automation Platform, Satellite and Django based applications (APIs, Automatic Patching).
8. Technical support and executing of Linux OS patching according to the defined standard procedures.
9. Technical support and executing of Ansible Automation Platform application patching according to the defined standard procedures.
10. Proactive incident and problem management in response to system monitoring.
11. Verifying logs, metrics and alerts to ensure accuracy and anomaly detection.
12. Ensuring automation content, repositories, and Satellite-managed content remain consistent, up to date and synchronized across environments.
13. Preventing performance degradation and storage issues through routine cleanup of logs,
14. temporary files, obsolete content and unused resources.
15. Maintaining secure communication by monitoring, renewing, and validating TLS/SSL certificates before expiration
16. Handling the release and deployment of new versions for Django based applications (APIs, Automatic Patching) including Change Management for the process.
17. Conducting end-to-end tests for new versions of Django based applications (APIs, Automatic Patching) before releasing new versions to ensure the stability and reliability of the application

Skills Qualifications & Requirements:

• At least 1 years in Linux administration and support
• At least 1 years in Ansible or other scripting automation
• Sufficient experience administrating Unix (RHEL) IT systems
• Sufficient experience with Ansible for automation
• Strong git skills
• Python and shell scripting
• Understanding of incident management workflows
• Familiarity with any metrics, logging, and alerting tools
• Knowledge of scripting – Python, Bash
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and deployment automation
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with Podman or other containerization tools
• Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault is a plus
• Familiarity with Django framework is a plus
