Lead Site Reliability Engineer – Generative AI Platform
Optomi, in partnership with a leading entertainment organization, is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to help architect, scale, and operate an enterprise Generative AI platform. This individual will provide hands-on technical leadership across Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, automation, observability, and platform reliability while helping establish the long-term architecture needed to support continued AI growth.
The ideal candidate is a senior SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering professional with deep production Kubernetes expertise, expert-level Terraform experience, strong multi-cloud knowledge, and a proven ability to lead technical initiatives while remaining hands-on.

Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, deployment, and operation of highly available infrastructure supporting enterprise Generative AI applications and backend services.
- Administer and scale production Kubernetes environments, including cluster operations, capacity management, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements.
- Build, maintain, and standardize Helm charts for application and platform deployments.
- Develop and manage reusable Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform.
- Design, build, and optimize enterprise CI/CD pipelines, with a strong focus on Harness.
- Implement advanced deployment strategies, including blue/green deployments, canary releases, feature flags, and GitOps practices.
- Improve platform monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, alerting, and overall observability.
- Support production technologies including PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, MongoDB, and Vault.
- Develop automation and operational tooling using Python, Bash, and YAML.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, applications, and distributed systems.
- Drive capacity planning, infrastructure optimization, scalability, security, and platform availability.
- Help maintain a 99.99% uptime SLA across mission-critical AI platform services.
- Mentor SRE, DevOps, and Platform Engineering team members while establishing engineering standards and reliability best practices.
- Partner with AI Engineering, Platform Engineering, Architecture, Product, Security, and Capacity Planning teams in an Agile environment.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Deep hands-on experience administering Kubernetes in large-scale production environments.
- Strong experience building and maintaining Helm charts.
- Expert-level Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code experience.
- Hands-on experience with Harness for enterprise CI/CD automation.
- Multi-cloud infrastructure experience across GCP, AWS, and Azure, with a strong preference for GCP-heavy production experience.
- Strong Python and Bash scripting experience.
- Advanced YAML configuration experience.
- Production experience supporting PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, MongoDB, and Vault.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Harness, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with observability technologies such as Splunk, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and AppDynamics.
- Strong troubleshooting experience involving distributed systems and high-availability production environments.
- Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering professionals.
- Experience working within Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
