We are seeking a skilled Red Hat OpenShift Engineer to design, deploy, administer, and optimize enterprise-grade OpenShift container platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with Kubernetes, containerization, automation, and cloud-native technologies, along with expertise in maintaining highly available OpenShift environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and manage Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
- Administer Kubernetes and containerized workloads in production environments.
- Deploy and manage applications using OpenShift Operators, Helm Charts, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Configure networking, ingress, routes, load balancers, and service mesh components.
- Monitor cluster health, performance, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Implement security best practices, including RBAC, SCCs, secrets management, and image security.
- Troubleshoot platform, networking, storage, and application deployment issues.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and cluster operations using Ansible, Terraform, or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Integrate OpenShift with enterprise identity providers such as LDAP, Active Directory, or OAuth.
- Configure persistent storage using CSI drivers and enterprise storage solutions.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Development, Infrastructure, and Security teams to enable application deployments.
- Perform cluster upgrades, backup, disaster recovery, and lifecycle management.
- Document operational procedures, architecture, and deployment standards.
Required Skills
- Strong experience administering Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) 4.x.
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture and administration.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Podman, CRI-O, or other container technologies.
- Experience with Linux system administration (RHEL preferred).
- Knowledge of networking concepts including DNS, Load Balancing, Ingress, SSL/TLS, and TCP/IP.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Tekton, or Argo CD.
- Proficiency in scripting using Bash, Python, or Shell.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana, or Loki.
- Familiarity with enterprise authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (ACM).
- Experience with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (ACS).
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with GitOps practices using Argo CD or Flux.
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio or Red Hat OpenShift Service Mesh.
- Understanding of DevSecOps and container security best practices.
