Middleware Engineer with Linux

We are looking for a Middleware Engineer with Linux to join a long-term project and contribute to the administration, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise middleware environments.

Job in a nutshell

As a Middleware Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and operational readiness of middleware platforms running on Linux environments. You will support the full lifecycle of middleware services, from installation and configuration to monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization. You will work closely with application, infrastructure, and support teams in an international environment.

What will you be doing

• Provide technical support for the administration and maintenance of middleware platforms in production and non-production environments
• Ensure the availability, performance, and operational readiness of middleware services
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain middleware components on Linux servers
• Perform technical analysis and troubleshooting for incidents, problems, and service requests
• Support deployment activities and environment preparation for applications hosted on middleware platforms
• Participate in incident, change, and problem management process
• Monitor system health, analyze logs, and resolve performance or stability issues
• Work on corrective, preventive, and evolutionary maintenance activities
• Collaborate with application, database, infrastructure, and network teams to ensure end-to-end service continuity
• Contribute to automation and scripting for recurring middleware administration tasks
• Maintain and update technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge articles
• Ensure compliance with internal standards, security policies, and operational procedures
• Support capacity planning, patching, and system optimization activities
• Participate in on-call or support rotation activities, depending on project needs

Requirements

• Strong experience working with Linux administration
• Hands-on experience with middleware technologies : JBoss and Kafka with Apache/Tomcat or WebLogic/WebSphere
• Good understanding of application server administration, deployments, and configuration management
• Experience with shell scripting (Bash or similar) for automation and operational tasks
• Familiarity with monitoring, log analysis, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments
• Good understanding of incident management, problem management, and change management proceses
• Knowledge of networking, security, and system integration basics in Linux environments
• Experience working in production support or infrastructure/application support roles is a plus
• Familiarity with ITIL-based environments is an advantage
• Fluency in French is mandatory (written and spoken)
• Good communication skills and ability to interact effectively with French-speaking stakeholders
• Ability to work in a structured environment, following procedures and quality standards
