Senior DevOps Engineer with OpenShift

As a Senior OpenShift Cloud DevOps Engineer at HCLTech, you will play a pivotal role in designing, deploying, and operating containerized cloud environments using OpenShift and Kubernetes. You will be part of an agile, globally distributed team, collaborating closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of critical business platforms. Your expertise in automation, cloud technologies, and DevOps best practices will directly impact the company’s ability to deliver innovative solutions and maintain its industry leadership.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end responsibility for the OpenShift landscape of our customers, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Design, install, configure, and maintain the OpenShift Container Platform and related development services to meet dynamic business requirements.
• Develop and manage operational tasks with a strong focus on automation, reliability, maintainability, security, and customer satisfaction within a global team environment.
• Utilize CI/CD frameworks to streamline lifecycle management and deployment processes for the platform.
• Act as Level 2 and Level 3 support for incidents, problem resolution, and service requests, maintaining high service standards.
• Drive the implementation of automation and self-healing solutions to minimize manual intervention and operational toil.
• Produce and maintain comprehensive internal design documentation and user guides.
• Support IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including incident, change, and capacity management.
• Collaborate with colleagues and suppliers in an agile and informal team setting to deliver high-quality solutions.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in DevOps or relevant roles.
• Proficiency with HELM or Kustomize
• Hands-on experience with at least one of the following automation/infra-as-code tools: Ansible, GoLang, or Terraform.
• Strong security mindset and awareness across all activities.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience with tools such as Jenkins, Tekton, or GitHub Actions.
• Proven experience working with GitHub.
• Familiarity with GitOps principles and tools (e.g., ArgoCD, FluxCD).
• Experience with monitoring and logging, including the creation of custom metrics.
• Knowledge of OpenShift patching and upgrading processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to participate in standby/on-call duty as required.
