DevSecOps / Embedded Software Engineer – Edge Platforms

Frisco, TX | Full-Time


An innovative technology company is looking for an experienced engineer to help develop and support next-generation edge platforms used across embedded Linux and connected device environments.

The hiring team is open to candidates from either a DevSecOps/Platform Engineering background or those with strong Embedded C++ and Linux experience who have worked on deployment pipelines and edge device software.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop software for embedded Linux platforms using C++
  • Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD and K3s deployment pipelines
  • Support Linux-based edge platforms including Yocto, Buildroot, Debian, and Ubuntu
  • Design and maintain Kubernetes/K3s infrastructure for edge deployments
  • Develop and automate device provisioning, software updates, testing, and fleet management
  • Work closely with hardware and software engineering teams to integrate applications onto embedded platforms
  • Improve security across the software lifecycle, including OTA updates and device authentication


What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years' experience in either Embedded Software Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or a similar role
  • Strong Embedded C++ development experience
  • Solid Linux operating systems knowledge
  • Experience developing, testing, or maintaining K3s/Kubernetes deployment pipelines
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and software automation
  • Knowledge of embedded Linux platforms such as Yocto, Buildroot, Debian, or Ubuntu
  • Experience with scripting or programming in Bash, Python, C, C++, or Go
  • Experience working with edge computing, IoT, or connected devices is highly desirable


Nice to Have

  • Kubernetes, K3s, Docker/containerd
  • ArgoCD, Flux, Terraform, or Ansible
  • ARM-based hardware and embedded device development
  • OTA update technologies such as Mender, RAUC, or SWUpdate
  • Security technologies including Secure Boot, TPM, encryption, and certificate management
