As a member of our dynamic SRE-inspired support desk, your mission will be to ensure the resiliency of a large, complex and evolving software enterprise. You will monitor and troubleshoot system infrastructure, mission unique software, and Kubernetes clusters to promote high availability and consistent uptime. In this unique role on the team, you will administer and support Windows Server infrastructure and be relied upon as an expert Windows administrator resource to help develop the team’s overall proficiency.

More Specifics

  • You will perform daily support desk tasks, including system administration, SRE development, SRE documentation, along with monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting physical and virtual systems across Windows and Linux environments.
  • You will oversee patching and update compliance through WSUS or equivalent tools.
  • You will maintain imaging and deployment solutions for consistent workstation/server builds.
  • You will support core IT services such as authentication, DNS, DHCP, and file/print.
  • You will collaborate with teams on automation, scripting, and security initiatives across the environment.
  • You will coordinate with Tier 3 software development teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure cross-enterprise coverage during high priority test events.
  • You will learn and apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve automation and increase the system’s self-healing capability.
  • You will analyze logs and implement software solutions to resolve incidents and outages.
  • You will participate in engineering development, such as Kibana graph/dashboard creation and implementing Prometheus monitoring solutions.
  • You will work between locations on a rotating schedule. Periodic on-call availability required. On-call duties will be compensated with additional inconvenience pay.

Desired Skills

Desired skills :

  • Experience working onsite on a military base, or similar government setting, in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge and experience with Kubernetes administration, Rancher, Windows and Red Hat Operating Systems, Grafana, Prometheus, Ansible automation, Keycloak, Kibana, and RedHat IPA servers.
  • Scripting experience using Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, or other similar tools
  • Working knowledge of agile backlog management and/or helpdesk ticketing
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools such as GitLab
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Proven track record of taking initiative and driving for results
  • Active TS/SCI
